    in addition to reciprocal link exchanges. SEO uses external optimization to calculate the relevance of a website to particular search engines through the extent to which it is linked to user search criteria.

    Thanks for the constant participation. I just would like to make the distinction between reciprocal linking and outbound link analysis.
    If you look at linking building as a a vote for a particular site then Reciprocal is not very valuable. You vote for me I vote for you… you see how there is not a lot of credibility :) Plus I could go on about most reciprocal links are from pages with excessive links per page, from pages with no PR, pages that are not even indexed/cached!
    Now if you have a site and you link out to an authoritative site then Google would reward you for making a relevant reference.
    Ultimately one way linking is the best!
